Sign of the Angel is a 15th Century coaching inn that encompasses the key elements of a traditional Inn - to provide great tasting food and drink in front of large open fires with warm, homely rooms for those staying overnight.

Our inn is located in the National Trust village of Lacock, on the edge of the Cotswolds and the West Country, whilst only a short distance from Bath. Our Restaurant operates on an ethos of using the best local, seasonal produce and we encourage a relaxed, easy going atmosphere in the dining rooms, which provide the ideal place to settle in and warm up next to the open fires in the winter months. In the summer months, we have a beautiful garden to enjoy a cream tea next to the stream, along with a paddock which will gradually be able to subsidise the produce for the kitchen.

OUR POLICIES

Terms & Conditions
Check-in is between 3pm and 9pm. It is possible for guests to check-in outside of these times but only with prior notification. Check out is 10:30am on the day of departure. Although we do our best to accommodate all arrivals, it is the guest’s responsibility to advise of an arrival outside of the check-in time frame.
An additional cleaning cost of up to £50 will be applied in the event of damage to our linen, carpets or furnishings. Any additional, lasting damage to property within Sign of the Angel will be at cost to the guest.

Single Occupancy
All our rooms are available for single occupancy.Please speak to our team for terms and availability.

Dining
We recommend that a reservation be placed for lunch and dinner, in particular at weekends and during busy periods.

Children
Our superior rooms can accommodate a child in a cot. We can provide a cot at a charge of £15.
We welcome well-behaved children of any age accompanied by adults in the restaurant and bar during lunchtime and dinner service. We offer a children’s menu and additionally child portions of any of the dishes on the dining room menu are available and charged accordingly.

Smoking
We have an open courtyard located at the rear of the inn for those who wish to smoke tobacco. All internal areas of Sign of the Angel are non-smoking.

Parking
Regretfully we do not have a car park ourselves, so we offer 3 options in preferential order:
1) Free on street parking close to the hotel - between us and the George pub and round to the right over the bridge
2) Park in the village car park next to the Red Lion pub which is also free and is only about a 300 metre walk from us
3) Park in the main national trust car park on the edge of the village about 400 metres walk away. Free to national trust members, small charge otherwise.
Generally most of our guests find a space close by, but if you are unable to do that you can pull up the outside the hotel drop your bags and head to one of the car parks.

We do not recommend leaving your car overnight in the national trust car park, so if you do park there we suggest to move it back near the hotel once spaces become available later in the day.

Dogs
We welcome a maximum of one dog per room. We ask all dog owners to behave responsibly and clean up after their dog. We charge a fee of £15 per night for a dog to stay.
Owners must provide suitable bedding for their dog and ensure they are clean and dry before going upstairs. Any damage by the pet to fixtures, fittings and carpets will be billed to the owner.
We are very happy to accept dogs in the inn for lunch and dinner, please make staff aware at the time of booking.
Management reserves the right to ask owners to remove poorly behaved dogs from the premises if they are seen to disrupt other guests.


Festive bookings and packages
Deposits taken at the time of booking are non-refundable. At the point where full payment is taken the entire cost of the package is non-refundable, unless the package can be re-sold in full, in which case we will reimburse you (minus the non-refundable deposit).

Group bookings
We require 7 days notice of cancellation or part cancellation, or any changes to the dates of the original group booking; otherwise appropriate penalty charges will be applied. The booking must be guaranteed by credit card details supplied by each room occupant or alternatively by the group organiser on behalf of all room occupants. For lunch or dinner reservations of ten or more people our private dining room will be used.

Room Reservations – Payment & Cancellation Policy
Payment is taken at check out; credit/debit card details are taken on booking to secure the reservation. For any reservation cancelled or curtailed within 7 days of the date of arrival a full charge will have to be made if the room is not re-let after cancellation.

Accepted Credit Cards
We accept Visa, MasterCard and Amex credit cards. Unfortunately we do not accept Diners International.
